With the 2008 WSOP Circuit Events flying by, I thought I’d give you guys an update on Events 1-3. Event number one kicked off on May 9th, 2008 with over 300 entrants. At the end, it was Dr. Del Walker from Houma, Louisiana who took the coveted gold WSOP ring along with over $50,000 in prize money.
Here are the rest of the top five for Event #1.
2nd place and $26,074 went to Matt “Cub” Culberson from New Orleans, Louisiana.
3rd place and $13,037 went to Ryan Welch from Nashville, Tennessee.
4th place and $11,407 went to Matthew Stulting from The Woodlands, Texas.
5th Place and $9,778 went to Bryce Kammeyer from Pensacola, Florida.
Poker Pro Andrew Kloc takes WSOP New Orleans Event #2
After taking on over 300 other poker players, Andrew Kloc from Naugatuck, CT took down first place and nearly $52,000. Besides this win, Andrew’s most notable poker win came just two months ago. In March he took down the WPT Foxwoods Poker Classic for over $115,000.
Here are the other top five winners of Event #2
2nd place and $26,694 went to Teddy Trosclair from Thibodaux, Louisiana.
3rd place and $13,347 went to Jozef Pikula from Atlanta, Georgia.
4th place and $11,679 went to Fatolla “Fati” Shahen.
5th place and $10,010 went to Shaun Higgins.
22 year old Jonathan Westra wins WSOP Event #3
At just 22 years of age Jonathan Westra from White Hills, Florida is making a name from himself on the Gulf Coast poker scene. This WSOP Circuit Event win will put another $29,385 in Jonathan’s bankroll and give him a total of at least 16 major tournament cashes in just over a year.
Here are the other top five winners of Event #3.
2nd place and $15,418 went to Brian Walsingham from Winston, Georgia.
3rd place and $9,070 went to Brandon Robinson.
4th place and $7,256 went to Glenn Hyde of Atlanta, Georgia.
5th place and $6,442 went to BJ McBrayer of Duncanville, Alabama.
Congratulations goes out to Dr. Del Walker, Andrew Kloc, Jonathan Westra, and the rest of the folks who cashed in these events.
