Hey guys, welcome to my first ever GCP Weekly Wrap Up. In the past, I’ve tried to do some sort of monthly announcement to sum up different things on the site. Now, I’m trying to add some new content each day while growing the poker forum at the same time. It’s hard enough for me to keep up with!
So the GCP Weekly Wrap Up will allow me to summarize all of my weekly posts and point you to the hot forum topics and discussions. I also want to include a weekly section designed to boost your bankroll. This may be a special tip to maximize your poker earnings, or a special deal like a new poker bonus or freeroll tournament for GCP members only.
Since this is the first post, I will be highlighting a couple of weeks worth of content and discussions. So if you are new to GCP, or haven’t visited in a while, check this article out. I’ll be discussing everything from Guitar Hero addicts to rigged online poker sites. In this week’s Boost Your Bankroll section I’ll share with you how to get $1,700 in online poker bonuses TODAY!
New online poker bonuses for US players
Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been busy finding the best poker sites for US poker players. So far, I’ve added four poker rooms along with their current bonus promotions.
One of the top online poker rooms, Bodog Poker has an incredible bonus for new players. For a limited time, they are offering players 110% on any deposit up to $500. That means you deposit $500 and Bodog is going to give you $550. I wish I didn’t already have an account so I could sign-up!
All you need to do to take advantage of this limited time offer, is go to the Bodog 110% Bonus Promo page to download their free poker software.
I also found a fabulous online poker site that is growing larger every day. Cake Poker is offering new players a first time deposit bonus of 100% up to $500.
To get this bonus offer, download Cake Poker’s free software and during the sign-up process use the bonus code GULFCOASTPOKER.
My list wouldn’t be complete without the two most popular online poker rooms, Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars.
PokerStars is probably the best online poker room for new online poker players because of their game availablity and quality software. Also, the PokerStars sign-up bonus is only 100% up to $50, so it’s a good one for players who are building a starter bankroll.
To get this bonus simply download PokerStars free software and use the bonus code First2008.
Full Tilt Poker is also a great poker room for new players. They have an easy to use and fun interface and plenty of quality games to choose from. They have one of the largest online poker bonuses available on the net. It’s 100% up to $600.
To get the sign-up bonus, download Full Tilt Poker’s free software and use bonus code GULFCOASTPOKER.
In total, these bonuses add up to $1,700 in free poker money. If you haven’t signed up at all these sites, you can’t afford to pass them up. They are all high-quality, trustworthy sites. These guys are working hard to get your business by giving away big bonuses, so why not let them?
Hot in the poker forum
This week I made a couple of changes to the poker forum worth mentioning.
I combined the Poker Strategy forum and Poker Discussion forum and named it (you guessed it) Poker Discussion and Strategy.
Before, I had a forum where you could post your latest poker wins. I expanded that section to include all of the ups and downs of poker. Because let’s face it, we need a place to brag about the wins AND vent about those suckouts and bad beats. It’s now titled Poker Swings, Bad Beats, and Big Wins.
I added a section for us to talk about Home Poker Games. Here you can ask home game questions, share your own tips and advice, or get a poker home game going in your area.
Are you a Guitar Hero addict? It’s time to come out of the closet and admit that poker is not the only game you love. In the post, Anyone else hooked on Guitar Hero?, I set out to find other Guitar Hero addicts. We’ve been discussing how addicting the popular PS2/PS3/XBOX game can be. Some people love Guitar Hero while others hate it. The discussion turned to how some kids are insanely good at the game. And I posted a video showing an 8 yr old destroying expert level songs. This inspired GCP member Tyconderoga. Now he wants to train his own son to become the youngest kid ever to beat the song Through the Flames on expert. Go to the GCP Lounge, where you can give your opinion on Guitar Hero II and III.
Have you ever folded aces preflop? I started this goofy discussion and poll just for fun. Ignatius described the only time he would fold aces. Do you agree? Have you ever folded aces preflop? Or is that the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever heard? Cast your vote and join in the debate!
THE LATEST POKER ARTICLES AND NEWS
My article on online poker cheating software drew some startling claims by local poker pro Gabe Costner. Gabe has been in the local spotlight for his recent wins at the IP Poker Classic in Biloxi and the WPT in Tunica. This has turned into an interesting debate on whether online poker sites are cheating players or not. I invite you to follow the drama or post your own comment about online poker cheating.
In my follow-up article, I talked about how to get your own poker bot and why I believe poker bots are good for poker. Am I wrong? Let me know by leaving a comment.
Florida poker players got some good news this month. A new law might just bring large tournaments like the WSOP and WPT to Florida poker rooms. To learn more check out my article about this new Florida poker law.
We were all new to poker once. So on Friday, I posted The Complete Newbie’s Guide to Casino Poker. I try to give beginner poker players my 10 tips to help them have a successful casino poker experience. If you’re a new poker player, this is required reading! If you’re a veteran poker player, I hope you’ll share your own experiences and tips to help beginner poker players succeed.
This past week, the online poker world was buzzing about whether Epassporte would abandon US poker players. Every since Neteller quit allowing US players to deposit funds and locked existing player accounts while they were investigated, Epassporte has been the “go-to” site for regular online poker players. In last week’s article, I share the latest Epassporte news and how they basically said “Screw US Online Poker Players”. How did their decision affect you? Do you have some good alternative deposit ideas? I’ve started a discussion in the poker forum for this one. It’s under Epassporte to Abandon US Poker Players
Wrapping up the wrap up
I think I covered everything I wanted to for this week. What did you think about this week’s wrap up? Do you have any ideas for future wrap up posts? Please share your thoughts and comments here.
