Starting on Friday, June 29th players can start competing for their seat at the IP’s $15,000 Invitational NL Hold’em Tournament. Players have until July 13th to compete for one of the 50 seats in the tournament.

The spots will go to the players who play the most hours in live jackpot games (cash games) over the two week period.

Here’s some more specifics from the IP,

  • Tournament will be help Sunday, July 15th at 2pm.
  • Players are responsible for logging time in and out with Supervisor.
  • $20 entry fee. Registration for top 50 players will begin at 12pm. No entry allowed after 2:30pm.
  • Players will start with $2,000 in tournament chips.
  • $10 optional toke rebuy will receive $1,000 in tournament chips.
  • Distribution of prize pool:
    • 1st place - $4,000
    • 2nd place - $3,000
    • 3rd place - $2,000
    • 4th place - $1,500
    • 5th place - $1,000
    • 6th place - $900
    • 7th place - $800
    • 8th place - $700
    • 9th place - $600
    • 10th place -$500

It’s interesting that there’s an entry fee. Although $30 ($20 entry plus $10 dealer toke rebuy) for that prize pool cannot be beaten. I imagine the IP will be quite busy over the next two weeks as the buzz of this tournament starts to circulate.

Personally, I’m seriously considering putting in some major hours to win a seat. I’ll keep you posted.
