Last night I played my first WSOP circuit tournament. One of those cheapie $200 ones... although with 190 people, first prize was a very respectable 10k.

Anyway, I was VERY card dead for the whole 2 hours that I was there. The best hand I had was pocket KK and then when I raised it from UTG, everyone immediately folded to me and I picked up the blinds. The second best hand was pocket 77. Blah.

I write about the experience in my blog: http://www.pokerpenguin.net/2008/05/12/ ... -the-wsop/

They have $65 single table sit-n-go satellites as well... I might play some of those... those are available on a signup basis in the poker tournament room of Harrah's.

Hate to hear that. Have you tried any more tourneys since this one?

I didn't get the time actually. Work got really busy and I was never able to get back. I didn't even have free time to watch the action at the final table (which I did last year when Phil Gordon made the final table).

Did you get to go?

No, we've been in the process of moving to central MS, so things have been pretty crazy.

Maybe next time!
