Charlene and I decided to go play at the Silver Slipper this weekend. They were running some single-table shoot-outs and we decided to take a shot. First and second place were the money spots. First place also received an entry into their WPT Freeroll, were they're giving away a $10,000 seat to the next Gulf Coast Poker Championship. That's what I really wanted.
It was a turbo tournament which forces action early. Char and I both hit some big hands early, fortunately not against each other, to chip up. After that, we just stole a few blinds and waited for opportunities to knock out the small stacks. In the end it was down to Charlene, myself, and another guy named Kevin. I knocked him out when my Q7 spiked a Q versus his pocket tens.
Although we chopped at that point, Char said I could have the Freeroll entry, and I said she would have won had we played it out.
We cashed a total of $275 with winnings and bounties collected from knocking others out.
