i went and checked out the island view tonight for the first time. they had a $75 + 15 freeze out with a $10 dealer toke for an extra 1000 chips. they run it monday, tuesday, and wed @ 6:30. they had 22 players and we chopped it 3 ways for $495 a piece. i then sat in the $1-2 NL game and proceeded to score another $500 in about an hour and headed to the house. the room is pretty nice and i saw a few familiar faces, so unless the games get better at the hollywood, you'll see me alot at the island view.

Very nice! You keep running like that and you'll have a nice b'roll for the WSOP.

Wow, that is a great night.

My wife and I went last Thursday night (we had taken off from school Friday for my brother's graduation) and had a pretty good night ourselves (nothing like yours, but good for our standards).

We played the 2-4 limit game and had a great time. Most of the people were really nice and just out to have fun. And some even knew how to play poker. Two guys ended up head up and all-in, one with 6-7, the other with 6-8 and both had full houses (that was fun to watch).

Also, on Thursday nights, they have a lucky table drawing were everyone gets $25. Well, there were only 4 tables going, so we had good odds. I figured if we won, they would give something like $25 in tourney chips we would have to bet before and then win real money for, but no, they just come and give everybody a $20 bill and a $5 bill. In fact, our table won twice in a row.

Then, when we got ready to leave, we asked them about food comps. She asked if we had ordered any food at the table and we said no, so she gave us each a $10 comp. Apparently right now, there is no time minimum on comps because they just want to get people in there to play. Some people had ordered at the table, though, and it probably took them an hour and a half or longer to get their food. We had been warned not to order because the food comes from the hotel room service and they said it would probably take a looooooooong time.

So anyway, we basically broke even at the table (well, I came out up, the wife slightly down), but then had $100 of lucky table money and $20 in food comps. All-in-all, not a bad way to spend a few hours.

I'll tell the story of the guy who got REALLY mad at my wife and how she antagonized him afterwards if anyone wants to hear it.

That's cool. When we were there Charlene's table won 2 times too!

Definitely. Maybe just because I know her. Let me guess first though. The board was AA882 and the guy turns over pockets eights for quads. Your wife holds her cards up, looks at the board and says "quad eights..... not much beats that.... *pause*" As the dealer is getting ready to push him the pot she slams down her cards and says "except QUAD ACES!!!!" No wait, that would be the jackpot and the guy would be happy. O.k. I give up. Do share!

Oh btw; Let her know that I still have nightmares about the Gus Hansen Bobble Head staring me down *shivers*.
