Thinking of going over for some $4/$8 on Saturday. Anybody else getting out for some live play? Other than Hard Rock, any opinions as to the fishiest room?

We're not. Since our live bankroll took a dive over the past few sessions, we're sticking with online. Since we normally play 1-4-8-8 I can confidently give you my picks for the fishiest rooms. :D

1. Silver Slipper Bay St. Louis/Waveland - Small room, but usually a lot of action on the weekends. And it's ALL 1-4-8-8. If you know how to play half-way decent Omaha you should def. sign up for the 1/2 and 1/2 game. IMO, this room has consistently had the best 4/8 games on the coast.

2. Hard Rock - It has been hit and miss when we've gone. For a while we would run into a lot of Biloxi regulars - obv. looking for better games than the Isle. Saturday "should" be a good day though.

3. Hollywood Bay St. Louis - This room could almost be number two, but like the Hard Rock it can be hit and miss.

If we're talking about limit poker in general, I would put the Beau and IP at the top. But if you're like us, you like the spread limit structure. Personally, I love $2 flops.

I love $2 flops, too.

Well, I ended up at the Isle and it was the usual suckfest - 7-8 players to the flop, 4-6 at showdown. It paid off on Friday night when I pulled a giant pot when my aces held against nine opponents to the flop in a raised pot. The dealer threw out 977, was sure I was facing trips if not a full house. However, two of them were clubs, so I bet and got called. Got another club on the turn, so kept betting. When the last club fell on the river and I bet and got three immediate calls, was sure I was dead. Threw out my aces, including the club and was shocked when six cards immediately hit the muck. Ah, sometimes the sucker takes away, but sometimes he gives.

So are you saying you had the Ace of clubs and didn't realize it? Or that your Aces held on their own?

I was shocked that I had won. With that many callers and just top pair until the river, I was certain I was throwing out good money after bad betting them.
