it can be done if you have the time to do it. those freerolls have 2-3 thousand people and first prize is usually $15. so if you have the time and are willing to play 10-12 hours for $15 it can be done. it is definately a grind.
I completely agree that free rolls are a true grind. IMO: What you learn about reading opponents, value betting, changing gears, and how to play the small stack are much more valuable than the prize pool.

i had $9 in my account after a good cashout and a bad run to follow. i won enough money playing cash to play a $10 sit n go and came in second. to make a long story short two days ago i had $9 and now i have a little over a grand. you just gotta get on a good run and run it dry.
Great story. You need to start
"Operation: 7 G's in 7 Days" the way you're running

. But seriously, I'd love to hear more about how you managed to make a grand in two days (stakes & games played, etc).

i usually play in these tourneys and get tired when i make it to 500 players or so
That's a problem I've faced in larger field tournaments as well. I've had times when I'm deep in a tourney and get bored, only to make some crazy play and donk off my stack. Now I try to play multiple tables so I don't grow impatient waiting for a hand.
